Gear: lasgun and 1 charge pack, knife, guard flak armour, 1 week corpse starch rations, a ‘hammer’, laspistol with 1 charge pack, shotgun with 12 shells, flakk vest, street clothes.
Monstrosity: To certain individuals, Shiv’s modifications may seem horrific, some enemies may have to take a willpower test upon seeing Shiv or cower in fear for 2 turns (or outright flee depending on the circumstances)
More Machine than Man: Each of Shiv’s limb’s has an extra point of armour due to his extensive augumentations, this includes the head and chest. (This Special Rule is listed under ‘The Flesh is Weak’ in the Lathes handbook)
Shiv is a hairless, black eyed man with porcelaine white skin, his body is covered in strange, mechanical protrusions given to him by the Adeptus Mechanicus. At some stage his mind was cleanesed of all information and he was handed over to the Mechanicus so they may make ‘improvements’ on his body.
No one knows who he was originally, but judgging by his physical size he probably took part in either heavy physical labour or fought for the Imperial Guard. Shiv never sleeps, he merely lays down and slowly shivers (where he earned his name) as if something deep within his mind haunts him. His mechanical implants compensate for this lack of sleep however and Shiv never tires.
Since then he was handed over to the Inquisition to participate in a series of combat tests, the Mechanicus is hoping that should Shiv’s combat prowess be sufficient then he can be the model for the next generation of combat servitors, and mechanical upgrades to soldiers fighting for the Adeptus Mechanicus. The Inquisition was more than happy to deploy Shiv to the potential hotspot of Astranum and deployed him inside a randomly selected team to see just how well he would cope in the field of battle.
